What Makes Italy Special & Unique?
Typically Italian - photo by Alex Strahilov
What makes Italy so special?
That's a very difficult question; so much is extraordinarily good and unique in Italy. From the moment you arrive in Italy, you realize that Italy is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. The sights, sounds, tastes, and the sensory overload is something you can never be prepared for. Yes, you've seen the photos, watched the videos, and eaten pizza and pasta back home. But, let me tell you, the photos and videos don't come close to capturing the beauty of Italy; that pasta and those pizzas you've eaten back home taste nothing like the pizzas and pasta in Italy.
Italy runs on different rules to everywhere else; the things you do back home may be frowned upon in Italy, here are some examples of that, and Italians live life their way, their style and my advice to you is to embrace it, as they say "when in Rome do as the Romans do".
So, what is it that makes Italy so very special? Well, undaunted by trying to do the impossible, Andrew (my husband)
and I have set ourselves the challenging task of discovering the best
things about Italy. Whether it's a special town or village, a great beach, a type of pasta, or simply sipping an aperitivo in a piazza, we have put together various lists featuring just a few of the things we love most about Italy.
I hope you enjoy the lists...
