While spending five months in Italy last fall I vacationed in a few of the cities you list on your internet site.
I would like to share a few thoughts on each of them:
Turin
I had read about the city and how beautiful it is on the other site you have about Turin.
I got to tell you I wasn't 100% convinced even if you made it look good. I kind of thought of the place as a big dirty old industrial city - basically Italy's Detroit.
Well, I am sorry I doubted you. This is one amazing city, the downtown area is stunning. The walk from the Piazza Castello down Via Po to the river is just the best.
The Basilica of Superga and the Venaria Palace on the outskirts of the city were two of the most impressive sights I have seen in all of Europe.
Rome
You have got to love Rome, I have been to Rome so so many time but I will never ever get enough of this city. Such a buzz and feel to the city, so alive and yet so ancient.
Rome is a huge city and every part of this huge metropolis has something great to see. If I had to choose one world city that everyone should visit it has to be Rome.
Venice
Don't go to this dirty place!! A lot of people told me this. Glad I didn't listen to them because they were WRONG!!
Venice sure isn't dirty - better than most other big cities. I kind of spent a lot of my life involved in city planning and still have no idea how they managed to create such an unbelievably unique ciy as this.
I can yada yada for hours on how Venice is amazing but you have to go there to appreciate it. Even the photos of Venice on the web (and yours are great) don't really make you realize how overwhelming that first sight of Venice is. You step out of the train station on a sunny day and see the city before your own eyes and wow!!
If you can visit only one city in Italy which should it be? It would be Rome and then close on its tail would be Venice.
