The Dolce Vita in Positano on the Amalfi Coast
This article about Positano was shared with us by Modesta Tonan, author of the novel I Belong to You - an uplifting read filled with romance and Italy.
Modesta's Positano
Positano on the Amalfi Coast is one of the finest and prettiest places
on earth. Its authenticity and picturesque landscapes are such a
lovely sight that they will remain with you long after you return home, as
you settle back into your everyday life. Its pull on your memories
will create somewhat of an nostalgic ache that will beckon you back
to La Dolce Vita.
You will find our guide to Positano here, which explains why you absolutely must visit the town and not only the town but the entire Amalfi Coast.
From the first time I saw Positano, it gave me a feeling of wonderment and contentment as I gazed upon the pleasant seaside village, bathing in all of its beauty from the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. I loved soaking in every delightful minute.
I couldn’t help but think of how the hands that built this town were hands of passion and creativity. Little did the sculptors know that years will pass but nothing will change except for the people who will visit and writers like me that will be inspired by the beauty of Positano’s architectural masterpiece.
Positano is watched over by the church of Santa Maria marking this town as its own with its unique colorful dome. It is surrounded by clusters of houses, hotels and villas painted in whites, apricots and salmons. The view is nothing short of spectacular and so easy to fall in love with.
It would be remiss of me not to also mention the exceptional foods, wines, and creations from the many restaurant’s that will welcome you to try them. You will find that perhaps it is completely natural to have ongoing conversations about how the different combinations of flavors, and aromas have seduced your senses and reenergized your soul. I believe that falling in love with a place is like falling in love with a person. You crave that love simply because it makes you feel so alive.
Positano, through the ages, has
maintained all that is good. From the first moment I saw this gem of
a town, it took my breath away. The thing that I love the most about
Italy is the anticipation of finding these little treasures and
encounters that resonate with my heart. I sometimes feel like an
inquisitive child, always wanting to learn more and more. It has
captured my attention like no other place on earth.
The breathtaking sights and the magical essence of Italy will leave you feeling deeply exhilarated. I would recommend that you only travel with those you love. Those fortunate few that you choose to experience this with because they, like you, will be consumed with the magic of wanderlust and all that is sweet about Bella Italia.
